The Isle of Wight College Hair Show has grown bigger and better. All tickets were sold for the show which was held in Medina Theatre. 76 hairdressing students presented their models who took part in the catwalk presentation.
There were three categories: ‘Night and Day’ for Level 2 students to show their long hair skills and ‘Timeless’ and Total Look categories for Level 3 (advanced) students.
Level 2 judging was conducted by Shona O’Hanlon (last year’s Total Look winner) Chris May (ex-student now doing exciting work in London for celebrities) and Sarah Benstead (Editor of The Beacon magazine). The Level 3 and Total Look judges were Selina Windridge and Sally Bradfield from Highbury College and Sarah Benstead.
During the interval the guests were entertained with a live performance by singer Lee-Lee Reid.
We had a such a fantastic evening with an audience of over 400. I am delighted that it was such a huge success as the hairdressing staff, salon owners and students put so much effort in from the planning and design work, researching the costumes and hairstyles, creating the mood boards, to actually perfecting it all together on the day. Being held in the theatre gave it a big wow factor and I am delighted that the raffle raised over £300 for Beaulieu House Respite Centre.
