The college offers a programme for local secondary school students aged 14-16 studying in years 10 and 11.
How To Join School Links
Anyone interested in joining one of these programmes should talk to their school or talk to the student services team at the college, including home educated students.
Colleges can access funding to offer 14-16 programmes in their own right, after careful consideration the college has decided not to offer full-time courses for young people in this age range.
However, on occasion there are specific reasons why a young person of this age may benefit from attending a college course. In these circumstances, the college considers each case individually to assess if the college can offer a learning environment appropriate to their needs. Please contact Mike Joy or telephone 01983 550687.
In order to assess this, the young person will normally be invited into college to meet with a careers adviser to discuss future study and employment options; they will also be asked to complete an initial assessment to gauge their ability in English and maths. The outcome of these activities will help inform subsequent discussions about potential study programmes.
As previously stated the college does not offer full time 14-16 programmes, therefore any programme of study a 14-16 student engages in must be part-time and supplement other learning activities either at home or in a school environment.
For further information regarding the process for a 14-16 year old young person accessing a course at the college, please contact the student services team on 01983 550581 or email email@example.com.
