Following our We Tomorrow project we are delighted to now be involved in COOPCOM Seniors, another Erasmus+ European funded programme which aims to improve the lives of the elderly, this time tackling loneliness.
The partners come from Greece, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Romania and France and the first project meeting was held here on the Isle of Wight at UKSA.
The project encouraged people with a common interest in the elderly to start writing a bid for a European project using some of the tools created in other projects such as We Tomorrow.
Therefore it was an ideal opportunity to share the achievements of We Tomorrow with the participants.
Paul McKillop gave a presentation and participants had the chance to try out the VR glasses and the software. (photos attached) Joanna Jeffries from the college Health and Social Care department attended the training along with Vicki, one of her students.
The project which began to emerge looked at tackling loneliness in the elderly through Sport. The next stage will be to further develop the project and project writing skills at training sessions to be held in Valencia and Marseilles. College Health and Social Care staff and students will be invited to attend.
