WHAT DOES THE ISLE OF WIGHT COLLEGE OFFER?
The Isle of Wight College offers one of the widest range of courses to found at any college, to prepare you for work, university, or just for your personal development. If you can’t find what you are looking for please contact us. We are holding lists, if we get enough interest we will endeavour to put on specific courses.
HOW CAN I APPLY TO THE COLLEGE?
You can choose a course and apply online, download an application form to complete and return to Admissions.
I AM UNSURE WHICH COURSE I SHOULD GO FOR, CAN I GET CAREERS ADVICE?
Yes! The college has appointed Catherine Jackson, a specialist Careers Adviser and she will be happy to help you.
CAN I RECEIVE FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR MY STUDY FEES?
If you are ordinarily a resident in the UK, EU or EEA continuously for at least the previous 3 years and are aged 16 and under 19 years of age on 01 September in the year you begin your studies your tuition and qualification fees are free..
Many courses do, however, have additional costs for materials, clothing equipment and visits which students must pay for.
There are some bursaries for students from low-income families.
Students aged 19+ are responsible for payment of tuition, examination and course expenses although there are a range of exemptions for those in receipt of out of work benefits,
Students may be exempt from tuition fees depending on their previous level of study, qualifications and age.
Many Level 3 courses can be funded via a 19+ Learning Loan, please contact Student Services to check your eligibility.
I LIVE OUTSIDE THE UK, CAN I STILL ENROL WITH THE COLLEGE?
Please email our International Department who can help advise you on courses and provide further information for international students.
I WOULD LIKE TO GO TO UNIVERSITY, ARE BTEC NATIONALS EQUIVALENT TO A LEVELS?
YES THEY ARE! BTEC Nationals carry UCAS points equivalent to 3 A Levels Visit www.edexcel.org.uk for confirmation.
WHERE IS THE ISLE OF WIGHT COLLEGE?
The College is situated in Newport, in the centre of the Island. It is on a good bus route and is only a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
