27 Isle of Wight College students were amongst 59 young people from across the island to achieve their Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards (DofE) in 2016.

At a presentation ceremony held at the college, Terry Gaskin Public Services lecturer and DofE Leader at the IW College explained the process and tasks involved which included expeditions, voluntary work, sporting activities, and skills.

The awards were presented by IW Lord Lieutenant Martin White.

The following IW College students all achieved the DofE Bronze Award. (Those returning to college for another year are now working towards their Silver Award)

Terry Gaskin said they had all worked very hard over many months.

It made me feel very proud as I had never really achieved much before. I’m with a great group of friends and we are all going for the Silver Award now.
