No formal requirements; interest in French language and culture.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

Absolute beginners – anybody with very little or no experience of French who visits or wishes to visit French speaking countries, and who wants to gain a basic knowledge of the language. This is a practical course, which is designed to be highly enjoyable.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Introduce yourself and other people
  • Tell people about yourself
  • Use and understand numbers and prices
  • Order drinks and a meal in a café or bar
  • Ask for and understand simple directions
  • Book a hotel room

HOW WILL I LEARN?

You will be addressed and encouraged to think and respond in French from lesson one.  You will learn through a combination of teacher input, stimulating and enjoyable pair and group activities, simulations, information technology whenever available and through short homework tasks.

Please note that you may be expected to complete weekly self-study activities as an integral part of your course, and that regular attendance is required to successfully complete the programme.
