A career in Plumbing and Gas can range from the installation of domestic appliances to a role in global energy supply.

Plumbers work on sanitation, heating, hot and cold water systems and focus on environmental control and sustainability and gas. Working alongside local employers and studying in our dedicated facilities will provide you with the skills you need for a career in this sector.

Progression

Once qualified, plumbers can work towards technician or supervisory level jobs, specialise in a specific area of work and/or go self-employed.

You could begin your journey by qualifying as a domestic/commercial/industrial plumber and ultimately gain a degree and become a consultant or public health engineer.

Alternatively, you could take the entrepreneurial path, once you have enough experience, and start up your own plumbing business. (National Careers Week)
