You’ll focus on both the creative and the technical side of digital and creative media, including 3D modelling for games and animation, video editing and post-production, programming, web design, concept art production, group project management, and business development. Plus you’ll have opportunities to use professional-standard software.
Digital entertainment is the third-fastest growing industry in Europe, with an increasing demand for creatives who have technical skills, such as CGI artists, 3D modellers and architectural visualisers. When you complete this course successfully, you can top up your HND to a Bachelor’s degree or begin your career in the digital industry.

WHAT WILL I LEARN
Over the two years you will study a total of 11 modules which are designed to enable you to work in the exciting field of Creative Media Production.

HOW WILL I LEARN
Attendance will normally be approximately 2 days a week at The Isle of Wight College, with a requirement for reading and additional studies above the contact hours timetabled. Learning will be through lectures, seminars, workshops and discussion groups, tutorials and practical sessions in supportive small group environments with experienced teaching staff alongside self-study. Which will include developing skills in:
- Conducting research
- Developing software skills
- Working on group projects
- Designing, sketching and modelling.
- Reading and writing.
The course will employ a variety of assessment opportunities to include coursework, presentations and involvement in both individual and group projects. This will give students the opportunity to enhance and practice their skills in informal settings while competencies gained are to be fully transferable to the workplace.

This course is validated by the University of Portsmouth. This is a full time Higher Education (HE) course and applications can be made either through the University of Portsmouth online form or via UCAS.
Fees for 2020 are £6,165 (per annum) and may incur a small inflationary rise for 2021.
