Our Foundation Learning Courses are specially designed to help young people aged 16-18 (19 in some cases) who lack formal qualifications and the confidence to get ahead.
- Foundation Learning Transition (high needs, SEN, high anxiety) 16-19 years
- Foundation Learning Vocational 16-19 years
- Supported Vocational Entry Point 19+ (EHCP), or progression from Foundation Learning Transition
- Supported Internship Entry Point 19+ (EHCP) (between six months and a full academic year)
Courses provide a more rewarding experience for young people at entry level and Level 1. There are no specific entry requirements but a college interview and initial assessment will help determine if this is the right course for you. The courses are one year duration with the exception of Supported Internships.

The courses are tailored to the needs of the individual, who will be required to set their own aims and objectives.
Main start dates take place in September, other start dates are available throughout the year.
WHAT DO THESE COURSES LEAD TO?
You could go on to Foundation or intermediate vocational courses, traineeships, supported internships or employment as appropriate.
You will be asked what you want to do next at your initial interview, so your course can be tailored to suit you.
Moving Up is a supported internship programme which lasts between 6 months and an academic year,focussing on employability and based in the workplace and college.
