Learning Entitlement

In the classroom or workshop we will make sure :

  • All your classes, sessions and tutorials start at the agreed time
  • Classes are well organised and purposeful
  • That your session topic is introduced and our expectations are clearly explained to you
  • You understand what you have to do
  • All students are treated fairly and with dignity
  • You have appropriate resources and support to help you learn
  • That teaching is of a high quality and that it is monitored to ensure quality is maintained
  • Your classrooms and workshops are safe, clean and tidy
  • You have safe and healthy systems of work that your tutor checks that you have understood the session

If you consider we are not complying with these rules we expect you to let us know either in person or through The College Complaints Form.

In the classroom or workshop you are expected to :

  • Attend all classes and tutorials punctually
  • Inform your tutor if you are unable to attend class
  • Show respect for other students, staff and visitors
  • Come prepared and participate fully in all classes, tutorials and other activities
  • Complete all classwork, assessments and exams by the specified dates
  • Follow up the lesson with any further study necessary
  • Be responsible for your behaviour in relation to health and safety
  • Take care of College property and equipment
  • Keep the classroom/workshop clean and tidy by disposing of litter in the bins provided
  • Not to eat or drink (water is allowed) in classrooms
  • Not swear or behave in a way that makes any other person feel uncomfortable or vulnerable
  • Not misuse College IT facilities or access inappropriate web sites *
  • Switch off mobile telephones
