The Matrix Standard

The matrix Standard is the unique quality framework for the effective delivery of information, advice and/or guidance on learning and work. The matrix Standard is useful for organisations that deliver information, advice and/or guidance to external clients as part of their business and also for employers who are committed to developing their people.

The Isle of Wight College achieved college-wide accreditation to the matrix Standard in June 2010 is part of its’ commitment to ‘Putting Students First’. We provide an impartial information, advice and guidance service on learning and work within the College to benefit the Island community.

Isle of Wight Council Education Participation Team

Isle of Wight Council Education Participation Team (Connexions) provides independent and impartial information, advice and guidance on education, training and employment. This service is available to all students on Foundation learning, Level 1 and Level 2 programmes who are aged between 13 and 19 years (and young people with learning support needs up to 25 ) and some students on Level 3 courses. Extra support is available for students with an S139a.

Nextstep

Nextstep is a service for people aged 19 and over. Your Nextstep Adviser can offer you free and impartial information, advice and guidance on careers, work and learning choices. This can include choosing the right course, writing CVs, applying for jobs. Appointments to see a Careers Adviser at college can be arranged via Reception or by contacting Admissions (01983 535210).
