The Isle of Wight College has welcomed students from around the world since 1991 and continues to provide excellent welfare and support to all International students. From August 2010, the UKBA awarded the College, the status of ‘Highly Trusted Sponsor’ permitting International students to study from Level 3 and above.
Following guidelines set out by UKBA, students from outside the EU will require a Student Visa to study a full-time course.
New this year – the International Department invites learners to study an International Foundation Year, which will include a progression route to universities in the South of England.
With the correct entry qualification students may study any College course from level 3 upwards.
English as a Foreign Language courses run throughout the year to support any non-native speakers with their English. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Vocational qualifications and programmes
International students who require a Tier 4 Student Visa to gain entry to the UK will need to be accepted to study at Level 3 and above on full time courses only. For more information regarding Visa regulations please visit:
The College offers a broad curriculum of subjects, click on the Courses link below; choose which subject you are interested in studying and ensure that there is a Level 3, 4 or 5 available. If there is not a level 3, 4 or 5 listed, then please choose a different subject.
Entry qualifications vary from course to course, however you will need to evidence satisfactory secondary school results in order to gain a place within the College. Non English-speaking students will require a current IELTS score of 6.0.

A warm welcome awaits all students joining a College approved Host Family.
All Homestay families are carefully chosen and have many years’ experience of hosting International students.
The International Department carry out strict assessments and police checks to assure the suitability of the families and the welfare of the students, along with a 24 hour on call service. A comfortable room will be provided along with all meals, access to laundry facilities and a quiet space in which to study.
Both families and students receive a profile on each other detailing any dietary and medical requirements, as well as personal information like hobbies and interests, to ensure a comfortable and well matched placement.
