The Equine industry in the UK is expanding rapidly, with a turnover approaching £1 billion per year. The Horse Management industry encompasses many different sectors, from racing, driving and endurance to dressage, horse trials and show jumping which provides extensive career opportunities.

Gain skills and knowledge by learning how to undertake and promote animal health, understanding the principles of animal biology and physiology and how to plan and monitor animal feeding. You will also gain hands on experience of stable and yard management by work placements integrated into the Horse Management course.

Dedication to horses and their care is essential, you will need to be self-motivated and willing to use your initiative. Working with horses can be demanding and challenging both physically and mentally, although it is also very rewarding.

Studying Horse Management at The Isle of Wight College will provide you will a solid foundation of skills and experience to help you progress to further study at university level or employment within this rewarding industry.
